The First Game You Ever Played?

Postby Scorpicus on Fri Dec 14, 2007 10:51 am

What was the first game you ever played and how old were you?

When I was a wee young lass (around 4), the first game I ever played was a very early, pixelated 2D version of Prince of Persia! You had one hour to get through all the levels to save the princess from being killed by the Vizer.

I never finished it (even though I played it pretty much every day :p) I got to around level 10, but that computer crashed and we got a new one, with windows, that wasn't compatible with the game :(

How about you guys?

I can't remember the first ever, but one of the first was the first Rayman game, when he was a midget in 2D when I was 7-ish.

My first game was FFX-2. I took the day off school when my PS2 arrived and played it all day. :D Don't ask why of all the games on the shelf I picked that one... but it made me love FF and play nothing else for several years.

This crappy racing game in the Dark Ages (the computer I played it on didn't have Windows). I was probably four or something.

Anyway, you could play as this shark with a huge truck. I was obsessed with 'Sharky Cart'. It was sad, especially when the game fried itself.

I was banned from consoles until the PS2 Slim came out, but my trusty and always infuriating computer entertained me until then.

Super Mario RPG for Super Nintendo. Can you say old school gaming?
I guess I was three when I started watching my sisters play, and four when I tried to really play it by myself.

I was programming games on my old Texas Instruments computer when I was 3. I knew how to read the books that had the programs, plug in the information and even modify a few things to have fun with them. I remembered the old games like nerm of bemer (the worm and wall game), car wars, chess, and there were some other ones too.

Pokemon Red when I was eight. I was a late bloomer indeed. My parents hated video games with passion and tried to ensure that I never picked one up for a long, long time. I didn't even own a game system until I was eleven.

@Snipo - Of course you'd be awful at a game when you're 2...if you weren't that'd be kinda scary.

Although in retrospect my 5 year old cousin owns me at the Wii :roll:

Wait a sec, I just realised. Why did you play X-2 before X?
