FF Trivia!

Postby Fate on Sun Dec 23, 2007 9:08 pm

Yes, the place for all the useless FF trivia.

My contribution for now:

Sephiroth has magically vanishing gloves, watch the Aerith death scene, he has no gloves when he descends, but has gloves when withdrawing the sword.

Squall's surname is Leonhart because lions are Tetsuya Nomura's favorite animal.

Something about not being able to live with being the person who let his world die, so changed his name. 0.O

Squall IS silly!

Laguna and Irvine in FFVIII are named after Laguna Beach and Irvine, California because the creator really liked visiting those places when he was at Square's US offices in southern California.

Oh WOW, I have to go there!

Oh yeah, in Hebrew, Sephiroth means something like spheres of existence. Materia, maybe?

I wish they'd kept him more manly. *pukes*
Cloud originally had slick black hair and Basch was FFXIII's original main character.

Sephiroth is actually a re-spelling of the name of Shiva's son, who died whilst fighting his father because of family issues. (I think his father was Ifrit?)

Safer Sephiroth is a mispelling of the Buddist/Hindu angels known as SERAPH (Seraph Sephiroth). The Seraph have a total of 6 wings or more, either 4 replacing their legs with two on their back or all 6 for legs.
In this case, Seraph Sephiroth has 6 leg-wings and his single arm-wing.

Aerith was origionally supposed to die in North Cave, not City Of The Ancients. (Debug room shows us that.)

Both Zidane and Kuja have woman hips, and Mikoto doesn't have any...even though she is a woman.

Reno's character was poorly translated in the game, he was supposed to be a drunken moron...but for some reason in the translation he was made more serious about his job, even though he'd rather run away and hide somewhere.

Cloud Strife's name means 'conflict in the heavens/clouds'.

There is a 'Cid' in EVERY game and he is always connected to airships/boats...even though his last name is always different.

There is ALWAYS an Ultima Weapon, even if the main character never has it, it's always there for someone.

Meteor was actually shaped more like a comet and is a possible reference to Apothis, which was discovered in 1994 to be a hazphard to Earth.

The 'Ruby and Emerald' weapons where never meant to be fought, they where thrown in as optional bosses at the last minute.

Sephiroths Super Nova was modified to appear more 'epic' for the US and European versions of the game, lasting a total of around 4 minutes. The japanese version lasts less than a minute in animation.

There have been a total of 13 different 'One Winged Angel' songs officially made: 2 orchestral mixes, 1 choir mix, KH mixes, Advent Children, FF7, Crisis Core, Trance mix, Live Conert edition, Live Rock edition and many more.

Vincent can kill ANY monster but Ruby Weapon in one hit by using Death Penalty, if you have killed around 65,535 monsters that is...

Barret can do exactly the same as Vincent, if you equipt his Missing Score weapon with high AP maxed materia (Typhoon, KoTR and other POWERFUL materias) and giving him nothing else. And you don't even have to kill all those monsters to do it!

Vincent has nearly 50% vampire characteristics but they clash with the other 50% that say he clearly is not, so he will forever remain a mysterious character.

Cloud's animation sprite you run around the world map with looks a lot like SSJ Gohan from Dragonball Z.

I am an otaku, so I would know all this.
I HAVE to know all this.

The Supernova animation is 2:35 mins ACTUALLY. I timed it. :)

The original FFIV/FFV have no Ultima Weapons. (I think, I've only played remakes...)

13 mixes?! I thought there were 6, and that's enough...
